An interesting talk by best selling author Rick Warren (click the link and a new window will display the video). Warren’s book The Purpose Driven Life was a massive best seller.

http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/rick_warren_on_a_life_of_purpose.html

“Pastor Rick Warren, author of The Purpose-Driven Life, reflects on his own crisis of purpose in the wake of his book’s wild success. He explains his belief that God’s intention is for each of us to use our talents and influence to do good.”

From the TED website (lots of interesting talks on there).

Wow… what an interesting speech from a man that's got more money than I can even comprehend! Here's what I got from it:

Your world view determines everything else in your life – decisions, relationships, level of confidence, and behaviour. And your behaviour determines what you become in life.

God gets pleasure watching you be you. When you do what you were made to do, you use the talent and ability that He gave you which makes Him happy.

What's in your hand? What have you been given? What are you doing with what you have been given? How can you make this world a better place?

The purpose of influence is to speak up for those who have no influence – not to build your ego or your net worth.
