I had a thought this morning…yes, it hurt. They come out of the blue, these thoughts….

Do I really need a PDA on this trip? The reason I am thinking of taking one is so that I can type up a daily diary. Having the diary in data format would speed up the uploading of the diary at internet cafes.

But would a notebook and pencil not be more than sufficient? No need to care for dust and moisture and temperature-sensitive electronic goods. No need for charging batteries. I don’t envisage writing more than a couple of paragraphs per day on the road for my diary. Write this by hand, and then quickly type it up on a computer at an interned cafe…

No hurry to decide yet though, I guess.
